Why would a guy think this is alright to say to a girl that is his best friend?

ok im sure you have herd of all the new things that go on with cell phones.....well my school has been having rly bad problams with all of it and one night a week ago my best guy friend that i like a lot started texting me. and he was saying stuff like hey baby how are you...and was saying im gay i love my best friend....well to find out the next day both of them were hanging out together the night before and it was just a big dare to do that to me. well it had gotten so bad to where they were telling me that they hate me and never want to talk to me again....well then i flipped on my best guy friend and i havent talked to him since. yet i see him at school he looks at me and smiles but i just ignore him....he never trys to talk or anything he has my cell number but never calls or texts me...i dont know what to do. am i taking this to harshly? please let me know what i should do! :/
