New shingle roof - Felt Underpading, GAF Roof Deck Protection, or nothing at all?

One roof contractor recommends GAF Roof Deck Protector (allows roof to breath and doesn't trap moisture). GAF website also recommends ($'s). Second roof contractor recomends felt under-padinging. I live in Ontario and so do have temperature swings and humidity. Any experts out there? Thanks.
