????For A Tile Contractor.......?

We just removed our old cabinets and there is no vinyl flooring underneath and we are going to have cement backer board installed. We have one good layer of vinyl flooring but there is going to be backer board added to where our bar was. We want to have tile flooring installed or do it ourselves. Can we install tile right over the layer of vinyl and if so what is the best adhesive for bonding tile to vinyl? Thanks for any information we can get..........
