Did my dog have a stroke?

For the entire night my dog has been panting and pacing around the house. I thought it was because a storm was coming. But this morning he was still doing the same. He loves going in the car, but refused to get in when we wanted to take him to the vet. It seems like his hind end is acting funny. he won't go up or down stairs. and is running into things and is wobbling. He is also acting very strange; if you touch him he whines, if you try and move him he snaps at you (my dog NEVER bites) and he bit me very hard when i tried muzzling him... currently we are waiting for a dog transportation company that will sedate him and take him to the vet.. until then, does anyone think they might know the problem?
